Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus Now Come with Six Airbags as Standard
Volkswagen has updated both the Taigun SUV and the Virtus sedan with six airbags as standard across the range; lower variants were only available with two airbags. Now six airbags are standard across all variants, making both cars much safer. Both the Virtus and Taigun are 5-star rated.
The Taigun and Virtus are based on the MQB-A0-IN platform and have already been awarded a 5-star rating from Global NCAP. It had secured that rating in just their dual airbag-spec. Other safety features on both models include ESC as standard, a multi-collision braking system, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), brake assist and traction control.
The Virtus scored 29.71 points out of a total of 34 in adult occupant protection tests and 42 points out of a total of 49 in child occupant protection. The taigun also gets similar results, has scored 29.64 points out of a total of 34 in adult occupant protection.
The Taigun was launched in India in 2021 and was the VW Group’s first compact SUV for the market , According to Volkswagen India, the Taigun has contributed to over 61% of sales that led to the 100,000-plus India 2.0 cars sales milestone while the Virtus has established itself as the premium midsize sedan of choice among customers.

The Virtus and Taigun continue with the 115hp, 150Nm, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, 3-cylinder, engine paired to either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG gearbox.
