Volkswagen Tera spied Undisguised in snow, India-bound?

India-bound Volkswagen Tera has been spotted testing with minimal camouflage ahead of its official debut initially in Brazil later this year, with more markets to follow.

Notably, Volkswagen confirmed last year that they will introduce a new sub-4m SUV to the market.

Over the last few months, a few test mules of this SUV have already been spotted testing. Now, most recently, another new, and this time a fully undisguised, test mule of the Volkswagen Tera has been seen in snow.

The Volkswagen Tera is based on the MQB A0 platform, this is the same platform that has been used to develop the recently launched Skoda Kylaq.

Volkswagen Tera Powertrain

Reports suggests that the Volkswagen Tera will be powered by the 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This motor will be able to produce 118 bhp of maximum power and a torque of 178 Nm.

Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Volkswagen Tera India launch

In India, Volkswagen will likely launch the Tera sometime in 2026.

The Tera would see Volkswagen enter the sub-4m SUV space, thus competing with popular models like Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and the recently launched Skoda Kylaq.
