Xiaomi Showcases SU7 in India: Features and Highlights

Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi will showcase its first car in India, while Xiaomi has not revealed its strategy for launching the car here.

This move by the tech giant aims to highlight Xiaomi’s diverse range of products while celebrating ten years of business in India.

In China, the Xiaomi SU7 directly rivals the Tesla Model 3. It is approximately $4,000 (Rs 3.3 lakh) cheaper than Tesla’s Model 3 base model in China. The EV has bagged more than 100,000 orders since it was sold out within the first 24 hours.

Xiaomi has invested $10 billion globally into its automotive venture.

Xiaomi SU7: Powertrain and Performance

The rear-wheel drive is powered by a 400-volt electrical architecture with a rear-mounted HyperEngine V6 super electric motor producing 295 bhp (220 kW) and 400 Nm of torque. Xiaomi claims the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.28 seconds.

The all-powerful all-wheel-drive version is based on a more powerful 800-volt architecture and comes with a dual electric motor, which pumps out an insane output of 664 bhp (495 kW) and 838 Nm of torque.

The dual-motor trim does 0-100 kmph in an impressive 2.78 seconds.

Interior

On the inside, the dashboard and door trim pieces feature the star-patterned design, along with Mercedes’ new touch-capacitive three-spoke steering wheel. The EQB includes two 10.25-inch displays with the latest-generation MBUX Gen 2 operating system.

Exterior

On the front, it features triangular headlamps. You also get the standard DRLs (daytime running lights), while on the rear, you get the slim wraparound taillights that look new.

Dimensions

The SU7 measures 4,997 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width, and up to 1,455 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm and 19-inch Michelin alloy wheels as standard across all variants.

Range

The Xiaomi SU7 comes in two battery pack options: The entry-level version gets a 73.6 kWh battery with a 535 km range, while the top-of-the-line version boasts a 101 kWh battery with a claimed range of 800 km.
