Citroen Basalt Teased Ahead of August 2024 Debut
Citroen India has teased the Basalt again, revealing some of the features the SUV-coupe. The Citroen Basalt was unveiled as a concept in March 2024. Citroen is all set to launch its fifth product in India. The Citroen Basalt will be officially unveiled on 2 August. The Basalt is Citroen’s fourth locally produced vehicle in India under its C-Cube programme.The Citroen Basalt will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that delivers 115bhp and 215Nm of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission. The French automaker has released multiple teasers which reveals exterior details of the car, and now the company has teased the interior for the first time revealing a few design details and features.The Citroen Basalt will offer advanced lighting systems like LED DRLs and projector headlamps aligns with current automotive trends while enhancing vehicle’s aesthetic appeal.On the inside the coupe SUV will feature a beige-coloured cabin theme, The Citroen Basalt will share some components with the C3 Aircross but it will also get more features.Additionally, it is expected to include Citroen’s connected car capabilities, which are tied to the automaker’s My Citroen App. The instrument cluster seems to have similar graphics as well.The overall dashboard layout looks very similar to the C3 and C3 Aircross and it also features a floating touchscreen infotainment system which will likely measure 10.25 inches.The Basalt will also get auto climate control. The cabin gets other features like digital instrument cluster, leatherette upholstery, front and rear armrests with cupholders, etc. Additionally, the rear armrest includes a slot for holding a phone. On the safety front, the Citroen Basalt is expected to offer 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a rear parking camera, and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
